Sargentea: Ellen Terry as Lady MacBeth (Inspired by John Singer Sargent, 1889) Space Donut
Time for the beetle dress. Ellen Terry wore this one when she played Lady Macbeth in 1888 and someone preserved it. It’s now held by the National Trust in England and I was devastated to. miss it when it went on tour with the Fashioned by Sargent exhibition a few years ago. It’s absolutely exquisite in photos and I can’t imagine how amazing it is in person and I can imagine a lot, as you’re all aware.
The color palate of this painting also tickles my brain something fierce. I happen to have chosen it from Tomorrow’s Artist’s options and I’m having great fun using it for all sorts of things while testing out reclaimed paint.
Sculpey, Tomorrow’s Artist reclaimed heavy body acrylic paints, upcycled jewelry, Golden Paints acrylics mounted on a mini canvas for stability.
