Kuswaffle: Pumpkin (Inspired by Yayoi Kusama, Various) Space Donut Magnet
In Infinity Nets, Kusma says that pumpkins are one of the only things she actually enjoys painting and sculpting. She says they don’t speak to her or cause her to dissociate like other shapes and objects do and that she has fond memories of them because they were one of the subsistence foods her family grew and survived on during WW II.
She does continue her obliterate theme of dots on her pumpkin designs but does not lose herself in them the way she does when filling rooms or canvases with similar shapes and patterns.
Golden Paints acrylics on 1.5”x1.5” upcycled tile magnet. Also available as a painting
